    1. What is Hackathon program?

    1. How is this Hackathon program different from other Hackathon programs?

      • This Hackathon program focuses on showcasing your programming talent for employers to spot you.

    2. How is this Hackathon program different from career fair?

      • In typical career fair, you can only show employers your CV and wait to be called for interview. During interview, you can't really demonstrate your skills. In the Hackathon program, you code to impress employers, and you interact with employers during the hack - a better way to showcase your talent.

    3. I am keen to join the Hackathon program for the prizes and experience, but I am not keen for the job opportunities, can I still join the Hackathon?

      • This Hackathon program is a platform for employers to spot talents, if you are not keen for the job opportunities, you should leave the opportunities to others who are keen.

    4. What do I get from the Hackathon program?

      • Meet hiring companies, showcase your programming talent, get interviews, and get job offers within 2 days for high-pay programming jobs

      • Challenge your coding skills and have fun experience throughout the Hackathon activities

      • Networking opportunities with industry mentors and other participants who has the same interest with you

      • Meals throughout the 2-day event

    5. Can I participate if I am an international student?

      • Yes. Hiring depends on whether the companies are accepting expatriates.

    6. Can I participate if I graduate in 2019 or later?

      • No. The event is only opened to those who are available for employment in 2018.

    7. I am studying in Bio-Tech related degree, but keen to join due to my interest in programming. Can I join?

      • Yes. We welcome any graduating students or fresh graduates who are interested in programming job.

    8. What is the salary range of the job vacancies?

      • Most of basic salary offered are in the range of RM3,000 - RM 3,800.

    9. How many prizes are there?

      • Multiple cash prizes are given for each of the program activities, worth RM5k in total.

      • There are 10 Warm Up Hack prizes and 5 Mini Hack prizes individual prizes, and 3 Main Hack team prizes.

    10. What is the theme of the software Hackathon?

      • There will be few options of programming challenges provided, which will be announced during the beginning of the Hackathon.

    11. What kind of programming languages can be used in the Hackathon?

      • Common programming languages preferred are C/C++, C#, Java, or Python. Other languages can be used as well.

      • Please specify your preferred programming language in the registration form.

Registration

    1. What is the registration fee payment arrangement?

      • Payment has to be made upon receiving confirmation email where payment instructor will be given:

        • Credit card, online banking transfer, and payment at 7-Eleven outlets are possible.

        • If you are using other bank not listed above, please select FPX, most other local banks support payment through FPX.

        • A copy of the payment receipt will be emailed to you after the payment is made.

    1. I missed the deadline, can I still register or walk in?

      • No, we have to prepare logistics ahead, no late registration or walk in will be entertained.

    2. Must we form a team to compete? How many members in a team?

      • Yes. You will form team of 3 members. You are encouraged to form the team before the event. Each member have to register separately.

      • If you don't have team member, we will assist you to form the team during the event.

Logistics

    1. What do I need to prepare before the Hackathon event? What do I need to bring for this event?

      • Bring your own laptop installed with necessary software development tools.

      • Prepare 5 hard copies of your CV.

      • Please bring along your jacket as it could be cold while you hack throughout the night.

    2. Where is the event held?

      • The event is held in Cyberjaya, at MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre).

    2. Where do we stay at night?

      • No accommodation required. You will spend the night at the venue. We will allocate two big rooms (female and male room) for those who want to take a short nap or rest.

    3. Is there any shower facilities provided?

      • No. Only toilet facilities are available.
